The Story Behind Celestial Shaman

There are some experiences in life that change you so profoundly that there’s simply no going back to who you were before.

For me, that day was October 20, 2013.

It was the day I experienced dying and returning to life, and what I would come to understand as my walk-in experience. The most profound realization was this:

“I am not my body. I am the soul within.”

My body was my vehicle, but I was the one driving it. It was no longer simply a spiritual concept I had heard or read about. It was something I had experienced for myself.

I can’t unknow that.

When I returned, I saw the world through entirely different eyes. The smallest details of life fascinated me. I felt an unconditional love for people and for life, and no longer felt the same need to prove myself.

That experience also left me with questions. I wanted to understand what had happened to me—and that curiosity led me on a journey of spiritual discovery.

Finding the Language for What I Already Felt

I became drawn to astrology, archetypes, and the work of Caroline Myss, particularly Sacred Contracts. I loved exploring the deeper patterns, gifts, and challenges that shape our lives.

Astrology’s symbols felt strangely familiar. Wanting to understand the astrology surrounding my October 20 experience brought me to Maxine Taylor, who became my personal astrology mentor and one of my dearest friends.

Through our private studies, I began finding language and structure for things I had intuitively experienced.

Then I started looking at the charts of friends and family. I loved talking with them about their experiences, offering a different perspective, and sharing those beautiful moments when something suddenly made sense.

The aha moment. The breakthrough.

I never really wanted to learn astrology to become an astrologer. I was searching for understanding—and along the way, I discovered how much I loved helping other people understand their own journeys.

Why Celestial Shaman?

The name grew out of that journey.

Celestial represents my connection to the cosmos, consciousness, and the experience of dying and returning that changed my understanding of who I am.

Shaman represents how I understand my spiritual calling—as a practitioner, healer, teacher, and guide. I feel a deep connection to the medicine-woman archetype, the wisdom of nature, energy practices, and the symbolism of medical astrology.

Together, these words reflect the meeting of cosmic wisdom and our earthly human experience.

Today, I bring these passions together through astrology, spiritual education, personal guidance, and interactive workshops.

What excites me most is helping you explore what makes you unique and discover something meaningful about yourself.
